Phone camera lenses

Camera Lenses

I’ve been using for some time now some little camera lenses I got online for my phone. They work really nice especially for how inexpensive they are. I got them on eBay for like less than $15 bucks. They are a fisheye and a wide angle lens.

Both lenses have real glass, no some cheap plastic. They come with a metallic ring that you put on the phone and the lenses attach magnetically to it..

The wide-angle lens is pretty tiny. You get a 0.67x magnification with it. Obviously you get some distortion but is not bad. This lens is actually made of two parts. If you unscrew it apart you can use one piece as a macro lens and you can get really really close to your subject and there’s no problem with my phone when focusing.

The fisheye lens covers a really nice almost 180-degree view. This one is a little bigger than the wide-angle but still pretty small. With this one there is a big barrel distortion with the typical fisheye look, you also get a a big circular vignetting. When shooting video, my phone switches to 16:9 so it gets rid of most of the vignetting when applying the crop on top and bottom.

Of course these lenses are just for fun and for the price they are not bad at all.
